This has been sighted in the south-western US of A. The guy is either a very elaborate troll, or VW is giving the Scirocco a new nose despite them saying that due to slow sales it will soldier on unchanged until 2017.

About time, should get some Golf 7 inspired lights/LED and a slightly changed bumper.
And slow sales? I see them from time to time, and would say that is sells quite well for such a car.

Haven't seen one in Germany for a long time as well. That's probably why they said that they couldn't be be bothered with updating it.

I don't really understand why it sells this poorly. VW is huge where you are and where I am as well. The Golf and Polo are among the selling vehicles in the market. Yet the Scirocco was discontinued in the Netherlands last year due to slow sales. Yet we do get unicorns like the Pheaton, Passat Alltrack, CrossGolf and the CrossTouran. I really don't get the failure of the Scirocco.
